I was born the youngest of three kids and I had a typical northern Minnesota childhood with a bit of a rebellious stage during my teenage years. I grew up fast having a son at the age of sixteen, marrying his father, Matt, at 18 and then 10 years later having two more boys to complete our family of 5. My boys are now ages 30, 21 and 19 and they are my greatest accomplishments. My health and wellness issues began after I got married and slowly gained 60 pounds by emotional eating and not paying attention to my self care. I was a heavy smoker for many years along with eating junk food so I was always tired and felt like crap. I was a little ashamed and I knew that I needed to make changes for myself, and also for my family because I wanted to be healthy and happy and lead by example. So I slowly made changes by researching and connecting with people that led a lifestyle that interested me, and it has taken many years to get where I am now and I still have a lot of work to do. My husband and I started a machining/welding/repair business in 2003 (Boyer Mechanical Services, Inc.) and we worked very well together growing it until recently making the decision for a career change to an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. This change has also brought us to CrossFit Bemidji, which we are now the proud owners of! What a perfect way to get my community healthy!! I live a full, busy, active life - filled with people I love, things I like to do, boating, fishing, cooking, laughing, exercise, gardening, and running here and there. If you are reading this, it probably sounds very similar to your life. There are a lot more stories I could plug in here which has brought me to this place and stage of my life but just know that I’m about as ‘real’ a person you’ll ever meet.
A healthy and active lifestyle has been a passion of mine for a long time but until the concept of health coaching for individuals and families became accepted, I did not have an avenue to practice my passion. Since becoming a health coach and a CrossFit CF-L1 trainer, I now have the education and resources to share with my community, near and far. Everyone has a story and the struggle is real. I’d love to hear your story and try and help you find a way to appreciate who you are meant to be.
Thank you and let's talk soon!
As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I can fill a void that might complement your current healthcare practices. I create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals, like weight loss, increasing energy, and getting better sleep, by helping you take responsibility for your own health.
I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together. As these pieces accumulate, my clients find these changes collectively creating a much larger impact than they originally anticipated. We work on what you want to improve within the circumstances of your unique situation.
I will guide you to find the healthy lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you make gradual, lifelong changes with health tips that enable you to reach your current and future health and wellness goals. This can include general nutrition information, develop strategies to increase your physical activity, learn how to nurture good relationships, and proactively eliminate harmful influences from your life. I can relate to your struggles! Just know that you are an individual and what works for others won't always work for you.
A Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.
As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and we’ll navigate the world of contradictory advice together to explore what truly works for you.

"I was nervous about doing this program. I'm so excited because of how I feel, and that I've lost weight, have energy, no more stomach aches, less hot flashes and good sleep!!! I can't ask for anything more than that. Progress makes me want to continue! (And no more swelling in hands and feet!) :)" ~Lanette
"I would really recommend Lynn to anyone who is interested in improving their personal selves. She is passionate about helping others to be their best. Her passion shines through when she is talking with you. She won't let you slack off. She helps you to be accountable to your own goals and desires. Like all of us, she has had some tough experiences. These experiences help her to relate to what you might be going through and help you to be the person you want to be." ~Sara
“So I just have to tell you that when I started this process one of the main things we talked about was my cholesterol and how I wanted to get it down and eventually get off my meds. I had a doctor appointment on Monday and labs on Tuesday. My cholesterol is lower than it has been in 4 years and my doc says I can go off my meds!! I am so happy and want to give you a HUGE THANK YOU for helping me through this whole journey! You are amazing!” ~Shannon
I look forward to hearing from you!
