Tell us about yourself:
I moved to Bemidji last summer after finishing my Master's program at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I'm currently a Speech Language Pathologist at Sanford. I enjoy anything outdoors: hiking, fishing, hunting, playing sports, etc.
What made you start CrossFit?
I had wanted to start Crossfit for about 5 years before I actually committed to it. I was a long distance runner prior to Crossfit and needed a change in workout routines. I finally caved and now I am addicted!
What are you most thankful for since starting?
I am thankful for the friends I have met through Crossfit. They are so encouraging, genuine, and some of the most down to earth people I've had the pleasure to get to know. They also help push me to be the best version of myself in and outside of the gym!
What impact has CrossFit had on your life in and out of the gym?
I have met so many amazing people from joining Crossfit. The style of workouts got me interested in it, but the community and coaching got me hooked!
What are your goals and how close are you to reaching them?
Everything! I have lots and lots of goals. I would love to be competitive in an individual competition at the intermediate level. To put it lightly, I have a long ways to go. 🤦
One thing you'd say to someone who is thinking about starting CrossFit?
Do it now because once you start you will wish you started a year ago!
What was your biggest misconception about CrossFit?
That you need to be an elite athlete/beast to start Crossfit. False!
Snatches or cardio driven WODS 😬
Have your eating habits improved? If so, how?
My eating habits depend on the week haha. However, for the most part they have improved. I am now more conscious of what foods I need to eat to fuel my body for my workouts and the amount of food I should be eating.
